The Nigerian police on Sunday, March 27, reportedly rescued an elderly man who was about to plunge into the Lagos lagoon to put an end to his own life.

The elderly man was rescued before he could plunge himself into the lagoon.
According to a media personnel at the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), Malik Nasir, the unnamed man was rescued by the police before he could throw himself into the river.
This is the third person to be rescued from jumping into the lagoon in the last one week, two other dead bodies, including that of Doctor Allwell Orji, who jumped in on Sunday, March 19, have been recovered.

Momoh's rescue was the second the police will make in that day after saving a woman few hours before Momoh's attempt.
So far, the two dead bodies have been recovered from the water and three people rescued before they could take the plunge in attempt to end their own lives.
