Members of the Aso Villa Chapel on
Sunday honoured the wife of the Acting President, Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo,
who turned 50 on Saturday.
The congregation by the Chaplain, Pastor Seyi Malomo, presented a giant Bible and a portrait to Mrs. Osinbajo.
Some chapel officials also joined her to cut her birthday cake during the service.
A former Chairman of the Federal Civil
Service Commission, Mrs. Juan Ayo, paid glowing tributes to Mrs.
Osinbajo who she described as a “mentor of Nigerian womanhood.”
“The paradox of what we are presenting
today is an embodiment of the lady we are presenting this gift to. Even
at 50, she still wears innocence of an infant. She is a godly woman, a
virtuous wife, a beautiful woman and a supportive wife. She is the
mentor of Nigerian womanhood,” she said.
The General Superintendent of New
Covenant Gospel Church and President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of
Nigeria, Rev. Felix Omobude, in his sermon titled, “Triumph of Hope,”
said it was significant that the Bible would link the rebirth of a
nation to a woman in labour.
He urged Nigerians to have hope in God
that in spite of the difficult challenges facing the country, Nigeria
would be great again.
Quoting from Solomon 5:5, Omobude said since “Nigeria is a God’s project, our God never give up on his project.”
“There is no room for the self-defeated
in this world and we must know that challenges are part of life. Life
would have been boring if there are no challenges. So, I call on
everyone to embrace God’s provision and know that we are His divine
project.”
